Moringa leaves are a good source of vitamins A and C, calcium, potassium, and protein (1).

Moringa supplements are sometimes promoted as a natural treatment for the following health conditions:

Moringa may help lower blood sugar levels. In a small study in 30 people with type 2 diabetes, those who took 7 grams of moringa leaf powder per day for 3 months had lower fasting blood sugar levels than those who didn’t take the supplement (2).

Another study found that people with type 2 diabetes who took 6 grams of moringa leaf powder per day for 3 months had lower fasting blood sugar levels and HbA1c levels, which is a measure of long-term blood sugar control, than those who didn’t take the supplement (3).

Moringa may also help improve insulin sensitivity. In a small study in 20 people with type 2 diabetes, those who took 3 grams of moringa leaf powder per day for 3 months had improved insulin sensitivity, compared to those who didn’t take the supplement (4).
